LIC. HUGO W. MERIDA
-
Graduated from the Guatemala Commercial
Science School as a Public Accountant in 1968 and from
California State University in 1983 in Business
Administration.
His current activities and responsibilities
are as the President/CEO for the Central American Relief
Foundation, President/CEO –Elect of Los Angeles Metropolitan
Hispanic Chambers of Commerce in charge of International
Affairs, Chairman of The International Committee of the
California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, senior partner in
The Meridian Group LLC and in The Global Consortium
Corporation. Present or past Director and Advisor for
Parent for Unity, Alameda Merchants Alliance and for The
International Trade Committee of the Latin Business
Association, business organizations in Los Angeles,
California.
During the recent years, he has headed many
Commercial, trade and Investment Missions to Guatemala,
Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Brazil, Ecuador and
Mexico. As a consequence, Mr. Merida has promoted and
signed agreements of Economic and Commercial Cooperation
between the institutions he represented and organizations in
Guatemala, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Mexico and Brazil.

- Experience
-
As President/CEO for The Meridian Group, Mr. Merida has been
a Senior Executive Financial Advisor and Representative for
major world financial companies interested in investment
programs in Central America.
In his 20 years of extensive travels through
Latin America, he has represented charity institutions, the
business private sector and chambers of commerce, placing
him in a privileged position to understand the political,
economical and social conditions and implications of the
area. He has played a major role in the promotion of
foreign trade and investment projects between USA and Latin
American countries as CEO of Central American Trade Expo
Corporation, organizing and developing many international
trade, conferences, expos and related activities in Los
Angeles and in Central America.
